The court dismisses the lawsuit for acknowledgement of the Turaki-led PDP national leadership.

A Federal High Court in Abuja has dismissed a lawsuit aimed at obligating the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to acknowledge and disseminate the identities of the Interim National Working Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chaired by Kabiru Turaki.

Justice Salim Ibrahim, in a ruling issued on Friday, determined that the plaintiffs, headed by the Chairman of the PDP Board of Trustees, Senator Adolphus Wabara, did not possess the legal standing to file the lawsuit and hence dismissed it due to lack of jurisdiction.

The court affirmed the initial objection submitted by INEC and supported analogous objections from parties wishing to join the case, determining that the plaintiffs did not demonstrate that INEC acknowledged the alleged Interim National Working Committee or that they possessed the authority to litigate on behalf of the PDP.
