The Nigerian Army detains a suspected kidnapper connected to the kidnapping in Kaduna

A suspected kidnapper connected to the kidnapping of a resident in Kauru Local Government Area, Kaduna State, has been apprehended by troops of Operation ENDURING PEACE, OPEP, in cooperation with the Civilian Joint Task Force, CJTF.

The Nigerian Army made this claim in a statement that was uploaded on X.

According to the post, the suspect, Buba Ali, 30, was taken into custody at Binawa village in Kauru Local Government Area on Sunday, August 9, at around 12:45 p.m.

The suspect was taken into custody during a joint operation by CJTF and Sector 7 OPEP personnel, according to the report.

It stated that Alhaji Tasi, who was kidnaped in the village, was allegedly connected to the suspect.

Ali was brought into custody after his detention, and security officers are currently questioning him.

The Army stated, “The ongoing investigation is focused on obtaining information that could lead to the identification and arrest of other members of the suspected kidnapping gang.”
