Malawi overcame Nigeria 3-2 thanks to three goals from Temwa Chawinga and her sister Tabita Chawinga in the second half.
The Super Falcons defeated Malawi with goals from Rasheedat Ajibade and Uchenna Kanu.
Nigeria’s 18th game against a tournament rookie took place against Malawi.
The Super Falcons had won 16 of their previous 17 games and drawn one, and they had never lost to a WAFCON rookie before the Malawian match.
But a brave Malawian squad has finally shattered the record, defeating the Super Falcons 3-2 on Tuesday night.
