Thirty-one of the thirty-nine students abducted in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State have been released by the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) Teaching Hospital in Ogbomoso.
The students and instructors kidnapped on May 15, 2026, were rescued on July 10.
It was said that they initially received medical care at the Military Hospital in Ibadan before being transferred to the Oyo State government on Monday.
The 460play says that the victims were then transferred to LAUTECH Teaching Hospital for additional medical care.
Our correspondent reported on Wednesday that 31 pupils have been freed from the hospital.
It was reported that eight students requiring additional medical care remain hospitalised.
Omotayo Ogunleye, the Public Relations Officer of the hospital, verified the development on Wednesday.
In a telephone chat with 460play, Ogunleye stated that the remaining eight pupils will be discharged shortly.
Ogunleye, who refrained from disclosing any information regarding the pupils’ health status, indicated that they are currently undergoing therapy.
He stated, “Thirty-one children have been liberated.” Eight youngsters remain under medical observation.
“They are scheduled for discharge imminently.”
