In an unannounced visit, Kehinde Bello, general manager of the Ogun State Environmental Protection Agency (OGEPA), checked in with Metal Recycling Industries Limited in Ogijo, Sagamu Local Government Area, to make sure the company was following all of the state’s environmental standards.
The purpose of the surprise check was to see how well the business followed all applicable environmental regulations, especially those pertaining to waste management, pollution prevention, and the terms of its environmental permits.
The General Manager and the agency’s enforcement unit conducted a thorough tour of the facility during the inspection, during which they checked the company’s production processes, waste disposal methods, air emission control measures, and environmental management practices in general to make sure they were up to code.
Bello reaffirmed OGEPA’s dedication to environmental and public health protection through enforcement and monitoring. He also mentioned that both scheduled and unscheduled inspections are now part of the agency’s plan to encourage environmental responsibility from businesses in Ogun State.
He stressed the need of businesses reducing the negative effects of their activities on local communities by following all environmental rules and laws, getting all required permits, and putting in place appropriate pollution prevention measures.
The general manager urged Metal Recycling Industries Limited’s upper management to maintain eco-friendly standards, fix any problems they found quickly, and keep working with the OGEPA to make the world a better, healthier, and more sustainable place.
