President Donald Trump of the United States has communicated with President Bola Tinubu, conveying gratitude for what he termed the Nigerian leader’s “decisive leadership” and initiatives to address security issues in the nation.
The accolade was included in a correspondence dated July 6, 2026, made public on Wednesday by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.
The US President specifically praised Tinubu for his determination to tackle violence aimed against Christian communities.
In the correspondence, Trump expressed his privilege to ally with Tinubu in combating terrorism and striving to render Nigeria “more robust and affluent.”
